You could make it so that you can buy the gun and instead of it not working change it to "You also need ammo." Then either expand it to include some way to get ammo or troll it by making the ammo super expensive.
This was a nice and short horror game that is actually really interesting and funny. The story is simple, getting a gun to kill a monstrous rat to save the cheese through playing a mini-game. It was really straightforward and the transitioning from something nice and cute to something horrifying during the game made the game cool with a surprise factor.
It would be cool if there was more to do in the game as well as toning down the volume of the ending part in general as it is ear-piercingly loud.
